Hello and welcome to my blog :) I have another of my Seaside samples for you today, from the Chocolate Baroque shows a couple of months ago. I thought we could all do with warming up today so this bright and sunny card should help. I have used stamps from the Seaside Dreams and Seashore Scenes sets; Aquatints, Sepia Versafine ink, Distress Ink, clear Sparkle pen, clear embossing powder.
On a piece of white card I stamped the beach huts then masked them. I painted the sky and the beach with Aquatints, added the tufts of grass to the beach and then added some shading. I removed the masks then used the Aquatints to paint the beach huts and the flag and added Sparkle pen to the flag.
I wanted to make a frame for the focal panel out of driftwood, but as I didn't have any I decided to make one out of Kraft card! I used a woodgrain embossing folder from my stash to emboss the Kraft card, blended DI over the card just catching the raised pattern, and cut it into panels or 'planks' to make the frame.
I attached the frame to the base card and drew some 'nails' on with a black pen. I added some DI around the edges of the focal panel then attached it to the card.
On spare pieces of white card I stamped and embossed a sentiment and a Seagull - yes Frank is back! He gets about a bit doesn't he? Haha! He's having a day at the beach this time.
I cut Frank out after stamping and embossing, and I made the sentiment into a banner. I then coloured Frank's post in.
I attached Frank and the sentiment to the card in 3D.
This card was a joy to make and I think it would cheer anyone up if they received it. It is a simpler design than some of my others, but no less effective. This is a great worker card, suitable for lots of occasions and recipients. I hope you all feel warm and cheerful now too!
Thank you for popping by today, I hope that you've enjoyed this post and that you'll come back again soon :)
Hi Penny, brilliant card, fancy you giving the seagull the name of Frank, such fun, Great design and fab colours, Kate x
