To Have and to Hold Heart

Hi there and welcome to my blog :)  I have a lovely wedding card to share with you today featuring some beautiful Chocolate Baroque stamps.  I have used the Hearts Full of Love set; Little Birdy hand made flowers, CB Masking Tissue, Versamark ink, silver EP, silver Brilliance ink, pearlescent paints, glitter, die cuts and some gems from my stash.

I took a piece of A4 pearlescent card then scored and folded it to create a base card.  I stamped the large floral heart image with Versamark ink and embossed it in silver.  I then masked the image with masking tissue and stamped another heart image repeatedly over the card, using silver Brilliance ink.  The Brilliance ink provides a subtle background with a lovely sheen.  

I stamped and embossed a sentiment onto a spare piece of card then cut it with a die from my stash.  I added a few tiny gems and went around the edges with a silver marker pen.  I  attached it to the card with 3D foam, then added some handmade paper flowers.  On a spare piece of card I stamped and embossed the flowers from the floral heart image, painted them and cut them out before attaching them with 3D foam.  I used some word dies from my stash to add another sentiment to the card, cutting the words from silver mirror card.  I then attached them to the card and added a couple of gems.   

I'm really pleased with this design, it is a simple one but no less beautiful for that.  I always enjoy creating wedding cards!

Silver and White Elegance

This is a beautiful card that I made recently for a friend's daughter.  I love to use silver and white or gold and white for wedding cards, this design would suit a silver or golden anniversary as well.  Although I have only used two colours there are a lot of elements to this design which, when put together, give the card a wow factor.  I have used Centura Pearl card, silver mirror card, Sheena Douglass Ancient Arches embossing folder, Platinum Planet Brilliance ink, Creative Expressions swirl stamp, and several floral and foliage dies.  The base card is a white scalloped edge card and I stamped the swirl image along the edges.  I embossed a piece of Centura Pearl card in the folder through a machine, in fact I put it through twice as the panel was wider than the folder.  I matted the panel onto silver mirror card leaving a border, then layered it onto the base card.  Next I die cut lots of flowers, in various sizes and shapes, out of Centura Pearl card.   I glittered the edges of some of them, and inked the edges of the others.  I also die cut some foliage sprigs in pearl and mirror card, and some trailing ivy in pearl card, glittering the edges.  I then shaped the flowers with a ball tool, and assembled them in layers to make 3D flowers.  I added  a pearl to the centres, and arranged the flowers and foliage onto the card.  I attached them all with dimensional glue.  I then die cut the sentiment out of mirror card and attached it in the same way.  I added names to personalise the card by die cutting the letters, spraying them with 'Stick and Spray' then covering in glitter, and attached them with dimensional glue.   

Moonlit Paradise

This is a lovely card that I made recently for a friend's daughter.  I love these stamps and the two-tone paints that I used, they give the work a bit of opulence.  I wanted to design something a bit special as it's for a milestone birthday.  I have used stamps by Sheena Douglass from her 'Laguna Bay' collection.  The paints are Pebeo Dyna paints, I also used Chipped Sapphire DI, and an Embossalicious embossing folder.  The base card is a white 8"x8" card which I edged with the DI.  The focal panel is a piece of navy card onto which I have stamped an Orchid corner image in onyx black Versafine ink and heat embossed with clear powder.  I painted the images in greens and blues.  On another piece  of navy card I stamped the humming bird and hibiscus flowers and heat embossed them.  I painted the images in different colours and added silver to all the images as a highlight.  I then fussy cut the humming bird and hibiscus flowers.  I embossed a piece of Centura pearl card in the folder through a machine.  I cut a large circle and added glitter to the raised cloud pattern, then edged it with the DI, to make a moon.  I then attached the moon to the centre of the focal panel and attached that to the base card.  I attached the bird and flowers to the card with dimensional glue.  I painted another piece of navy card with blue Dyna paint, then die cut the sentiment.  I die cut the name and numbers from white card and glittered them, then attached everything to the card.  I really love this design, it could be done in any colour scheme for any occasion.   

Iridescent Peacock

I really enjoyed making this card for my daughter's birthday recently, using new goodies and old, some favourite techniques and some I've wanted to try for ages.  I love Peacocks  and have several different stamps of them to choose from, but this is my favourite.  I have also used a couple of my favourite floral stamps too, they represent the lovely Cherry Blossom tree which is in full bloom in our garden at the moment!  
For this design I have used stamps from Chocolate Baroque's 'Peacock Parade' set and from Sheena Douglass's Sakura set, the sentiment is from a CB set.  To colour I have used Aqua Tint ink, Distress ink, Brushos, and Pebeo Dyna acrylic paints.  
The base card is a white scalloped edged card.  I stamped Peacock feathers, using DI of the same name, along the sides to create a border then blended the ink around the edges of the card.  The background panel is a piece of white card that I stamped the Peacock onto with black Versafine ink and heat embossed it with black powder.  I masked the image with drawing gum and let it dry.  Next I stamped and embossed one of the blossom branches across the the Peacock, and masked it as before.  This will give the impression of the bird sitting on the branch.  I then painted over the whole panel with Aqua Tint ink.  While the ink was still wet I spritzed it with a little water then sprinkled Turquoise Brusho over it. and left it to dry.  I love the random effect you get with this technique.   On a separate piece of white card I stamped and embossed the Cherry blossom images in black, then painted them with Dyna acrylic 'Iridescent Violet Blue', a lovely colour that changes as the light catches it from deep pink to purple then blue.  I cut the images out and set them aside.   I rubbed the drawing gum off the branch and painted it with H2o and Dyna paints.  I then removed the gum from the Peacock and painted the image with Dyna paints 'Iridescent Gold, Blue Green and Green Blue'.  I matted the panel onto black card then layered it onto the base card.  I attached the other blossom branches and the sentiment panel with dimensional glue to complete the card.  I really love this design, I think it could be used for various occasions even a wedding card.  It would also make a beautiful piece of wall art or home decor...........watch this space!  

Ice Blue Poppies

This is a lovely fresh design that I made for a friend of mine, a card, envelope and bookmark.  The base card is snow white centura pearl, on to which a floral image is stamped in clear ink on both side edges.  The image is heat embossed with holographic powder.  The backgroung panel is white card that has been embossed in a folder through a machine.  Broken China Distress ink is used to tint the edges, picking up the raised pattern.  The panel is then matted on to silver mirror card, and a ribbon added.  It is then attached to the base card with dimensional glue.  The central focal panel is a lovely collage image that is stamped on to centura pearl card with blue Brilliance ink, then heat embossed with clear powder.  The panel is matted on to silver mirror card and layered on to the card with dimensional glue.  The envelope is stamped with the same floral image used around the edges of the base card using blue Brilliance ink.  All edges of the envelope are tinted with ink.  The bookmark is made with an offcut of centura pearl card that is stamped with the floral image in Brilliance ink, and heat embossed with clear powder.  The ink is also used to tint the edges of the bookmark.  The focal panel is made in the same way as before, then matted and layered on to the bookmark.  A hole is punched at the pointed end and a ribbon threaded through.  A lovely hand crafted gift to match the hand crafted card. 

Silver Anniversary

 

This card is another version of one of my favourite designs, I adapted it for a special occasion!  This is quite an elaborate design using several techniques that I have used on previous cards, so I don't need to go over them again.  I just wanted to show that the same basic design can have many different looks.

Blue and Gold Wedding

Another personalised wedding card in a very simple design.  This design is in blue and gold, using die cut swirls and letters in mirror card, and peel offs with glitter to decorate it. 

Purple Heart

This is another version of a design that I have shown before several times.  The difference in this case is that it has been personalised for a wedding card, and a heart  has been stamped, heat embossed, cut out and matted on to mirror card, then liquid pearls added for texture.

Hearts and Swirls

This is yet another variation on a theme.  The background panel is embossed through a machine as usual but the central panel is left intact, and the embossed pattern is rubbed over lightly with distress ink.  A patchwork heart image is stamped in to triple layered embossing powder while it is still molten.  This is repeated to produce a second heart, then the images are trimmed and attached to the background panel.  The base card is a white shaped card that is coloured with distress ink and stamped with swirls.  The embossed panel is attached to the base card, and die cut swirls are added.

Elegant Swirls

This design is perfect for a special occasion, as it is quite an elaborate yet elegant look.  The main focal panel is created using co-ordinations card in black, put in an embossing folder and run through a machine.  This cardstock has a coloured core which highlights the pattern once it has been sanded back.  The centre is cut out as on previous designs, then the panel is matted onto mirror card which shows through the central apperture.  A couple of 3D flowers are created by stamping text onto pieces of black and white card, then die cutting or punching out petal shapes.  The petals are layered black and white alternately and secured in the middle with a brad which also forms the centre of the flower.  A swirl shaped die is used to cut swirls from black, white and silver mirror card.  The focal panel is attached to the base card, then the flowers and swirls are added and a greeting completes the card.

Divine Light

This design can be used for a lot of occasions.  This card is for a wedding, and includes a stamp and a technique by Sheena Douglass.  The background is created using white card that has been embossed through a machine.  The raised pattern is then glittered with multi coloured glitter, three swirls are die cut in the same white card and glittered.  The main focal image is stamped onto white card with Black Soot distress ink, then using a paint brush and water the stamped image has some of the ink smudged to give a watercolour effect.  The rays of light coming through the widow on the left are created by using the brush and water again.  The rays are painted on with water, then blotted off with kitchen towel.  This takes the ink off the paper because distress inks react with water.  Then the rays are painted back in using a pearl white paint to emphasize them.  Both panels are matted and layered onto mirror card and attached to the base card.  The swirl die cuts are added along with a bow and a greeting to complete the design.
