Hello there and welcome to my blog :) Today I'm sharing one of my Chocolate Baroque DT samples created for the recent tv shows on Hochanda. I have used stamps from CB Spring Bird Daffodil; Aquatints, Distress Inks, stencil, embossing folder, label die.
I stamped the bird in branch image onto white card in grey ink, then masked it. I created a wash with a pastel blue Aquatint, when it was dry I stencilled randomly over the panel with DI and blended some around the edges. I removed the mask then painted the image with Aquatints and DI's. I matted the panel onto black card.
On another piece of white card I stamped several daffodil images separately and painted them, then cut them out. I embossed a piece of Kraft card in a basket weave folder, and created a pocket to replicate a 3D basket. I added some DI around the edges of the basket and attached a bow. On a white base card I stamped the stylised flower image and a swirl in DI's on the corners then blended ink around the edges. I then attached the panel to the base card. I attached the basket to the card with red liner tape, then arranged the daffodils in the basket and secured them with 3D foam.
I stamped and embossed a sentiment in black, then die cut it. I added DI through the die then attached the panel to the card.
I loved creating this card! I wanted to use fresh pastel colours to represent spring, and I wanted a natural feel to this design. My grandmother always had spring bulbs planted in a basket style pot on her dining table, and they used to flower in time for Easter. This was my inspiration for the card. I'm really pleased with it, I think it would be great for a spring birthday, Easter, get well or a number of occasions.
Thank you for visiting my blog today, hope you'll pop in again soon :)
