Oriental Watercolour

This oriental style card  uses a stamped image with a water colour effect as the focal point .  It is inspired from a design by Barbara Gray, and uses two of her Clarity Stamps as the focal point.  The images have been stamped with dye ink onto watercolour card, then a water brush was used to drag colour from the outlines to fill in the image and smudge it slightly.  The geisha girl was masked using low tack masking paper cut to shape to enable me to stamp the tree over her, then peel the mask off to reveal the girl in front of the tree.  The focal panel was matted and layered onto gold pearlescent card, which was then attached to the base card which is in the shape of a ginger jar.  The jar has been stamped around the edges with clear Versamark ink using fern and chinese caligraphy images.  A dragonfly was stamped onto the same gold card used for matting, heat embossed, cut out and 3D'd onto the card.  A ribbon and an oriental coin provide the finishing touch.
